GAHS Dance Club

Glen Austin High School started their first dance club this year and it has proven to be one of the most received clubs that the school has. The dance club participates in the Dance Sports School League and is under the leadership of Mrs Van Den Berg who has been 15 years’ experience as a dancer herself.

Mrs Van Den Berg and her team have been training hard in preparation for the events and have performed extremely well in the league. Many of the learners have taken 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in many events.

Rookie Concert

The grade 8 concert took place on 23 February at Midrand Chapel. The learners performed various items that they practiced with the 2017 matrics over the month. The highlight of the evening was induction ceremony for the grade 8s where they had to take an oath to uphold the name of the school. The grades 8s were officially welcomed to the family after the evening. Well done to the grade 8s for a great evening and for the lovely entertainment. Both parents and staff thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The rookie boy and rookie girl for 2017 was announced at the end of the evening and we would like to congratulate Seth Butler and Mbali Skosana for winning the awards.
