Value of Sports

The Value of sports at Glen Austin High School is more than the skills that learners learn, they learn about life. Sport teaches them life will hand you many wins and many loses but what remains important is ones perseverance and determination . Through sports one learns to always keep trying-quitting is not an option. The value of sports is that it is a lifestyle, one of passion and willpower.

Sports Per Term

Term 1 sport – Athletics, Softball and Touch Rugby
Term 2 Sports – Soccer, Netball and Rugby
Term 3 Sports - Soccer
Term 4 Sports – Softball and Touch Rugby

Sports training times – 14:45 – 16:45

 

Other Cultural Activities

Glen Austin High School also offers:

  • Art club
  • Science and Technology club
  • Mr and Miss Glen Austin

 

The Land Service

An environmental, youth movement focused on four pillars:

  • Love for God our Creator
  • Love for my fellow human beings
  • Love for my environment
  • Love for labor

Join the land service and be part of fun filled and meaningful activities like:

  • visits to the SPCA and old age homes
  • assisting the less fortunate at soup kitchens
  • arts and crafts for special occasions (e.g. Mother’s day)
  • assisting with Glen Austin’s Heritage Day, and many more…

3 Camps will also be hosted throughout the year where you bond with your fellow club members as well as other clubs in Gauteng and nationwide:

  • Club camp
  • Provincial camp
